Wedding at the Zoo
Don’t you just love a day at the Zoo? Those visits with family when you were younger, seeing your favourite animals, having a lunch on the wooden benches, looking at the little park maps with pictures of the animals on, trying to work out where you are, spending your pocket money in the gift shop! The zoo for me is so full of nostalgia and happy memories, I absolutely love it!! So for all you animal lovers out there, what better place to get married?
Port Lympne has a hotel and wild safari reserve, and is licensed for weddings in both in their indoor and outdoor spaces. Maybe you want to take a trip to the wild side and tie the knot surrounded by beautiful hand-painted murals of wild animals? Or perhaps say ”I do” in the beautiful Moroccan courtyard, renovated in the most perfect shade of blush pink and complete with Moroccan furniture and a stunningly delicate water fountain?
Wedding on safari
But the crowning glory for any Port Lympne wedding has to be the safari! How many weddings have you been to where you get a chance to see giraffes, camels and rhinos as they roam happily around the venue grounds?! The open-sided trucks do a great job of protecting your wedding footwear from the mud, whilst giving you great views of the reserve as you‘re driven around. The safari guides are excellent too, all very friendly, incredibly accommodating and full of super-interesting facts.
It’s no surprise that Port Lympne has won multiple awards for its wedding venue. It‘s a truly special experience that you’ll never forget, and one your wedding guests will be talking about for years to come.
The photo opportunities and the space for your guests to roam around during the reception are endless. I’d even recommend splashing out and staying in one of the lodges overnight- we had the privilege of visiting the Tiger Lodge, complete with log burner, minibar, Wifi, books and games, Nespresso machine and even a novelty-designed outdoor bathing area so you can have a bath while gazing at the tigers.
The Styling
The incredible Holly from Locate to Create designed and styled this stunning ‘Wild at Heart’ styled wedding shoot.

Hair & Makeup
With hair and makeup by Pipa from BeYOU weddings, and wedding dresses supplied by Story of my Dress. The Groom complimented the pastel tones theme by wearing a subtle pink suit by ASOS.
The details
A show stopping cake by Chelsea Buns Cake Design adorned with edible flowers topped with Cake Topper Animals . With floristry by Hedges + Flowers Elise created a modern bohemian display. Using pampas grass and incorporating pink accents with english country arrangements. The table centre pieces were complimented with pretty vintage china by Harriet’s Table. With paper goods and stationery featuring giraffes, zebras and an array of delicate florals by the incredibly talented Jenna from Wonderland Invites.
One of the stand out moments from the day had to be when the incredible team from musical string quartet Chiqas played the most exciting set of music in the Moroccan courtyard for our couple to dance to.
