Rustic bridges arching gracefully over emerald water, sunlight dancing playfully off the crests of the waves on The Grand Canal, the voices of gondoliers, raised in song and echoing down ancient cobbled streets…could there be a better setting for a timeless love story than the breathtakingly romantic city of Venice? From a heartbreaking proposal to whirlwind elopement, this styled love story showcases timeless elegance in the world’s most romantic city. With styling and planning by Lisa Giolo of Italian Luxe Events.

Flawless, natural-looking hair and makeup by Storme enhanced Anna-Lisa’s natural beauty and helped showcase the first of three dresses by Fausto Sari.
The soft blush tones and stunning back-detailing of the dress set the laid-back, romantic tone for the proposal as the newly-affianced couple enjoyed a romantic gondola ride along the Venetian canals. The reception was the perfect setting to showcase the second, show-stopping dress by Fausto Sari. The fashionable dress with feathered details was exquisitely dramatic in the rustic, intimate courtyard of the Taverna al Remer.

Marco was the epitome of suave in a stylish three-piece suit, also by Fausto Sari. His ensemble was made complete by cuff links and watch, supplied by jeweller Scopagioielli. Flower arrangements by Fioreria from Pretty Flowers married beautifully with the elegant romance of the shoot. Taking full advantage of peony season, the table and the cake were adorned with red, white and pink peonies, paired with subtle touches of eucalyptus. The marble-effect cake by Jacopo Della Posta, with accents of pink and red, married perfectly with the flowers, while its flawless finish contrasted wonderfully with the rustic aesthetic of the venue.

Anna-Lisa looked simply stunning in the final offering from Fausto Sari, a handmade macrame dress. The sleeves gave the bride a modern look, complimented by a relaxed, almost Bardot style as the couple strolled arm-in-arm against the majestic backdrop of St Marc’s Square. The flutter of pigeons and the patter of heels on cobbles echoed around the deserted square. The bells of Basilica San Marco rang out above as the sun began to set, its golden rays disappearing gradually behind the ancient terracotta rooftops of Venice.
