Pass through the rustic, vine-draped archway of Canaves Oia Santorini and descend the winding stone steps. Within a few strides, your view opens up to Santorini’s breathtaking caldera, a deep blue expanse decorated with the bubbling white wakes of speed boats cutting their way across the waves.
Continue past the hotel’s private infinity pools and you’ll find a beautiful balcony overlooking the sea. Just spacious enough for the happy couple and up to 14 guests, the ceremony area is perfect for an exclusive, intimate elopement.
Venturing out above the cliffs, this exquisite space makes you feel as though there’s nothing between you and the glittering ocean below. Stunning deep blue sea meets a cyan sky in an immaculate blur on the horizon, while yachts rock gently on the lapping water below. Secluded from everyone else and surrounded by the best that Mediterranean beauty has to offer, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect place to promise yourself to your soul mate.
The celestial theme was designed and styled by Valentina from The Stars Inside. Championed by an elegant crescent moon of pampas grass, crafted by the hugely talented Red Box Days, a florist based in Athens who import the flowers onto the island. The theme was continued with star-shaped tea light lanterns scattered around the crescent, with paper stars hanging in the seating area, making a night’s sky of the ceiling.
With not one, not. two but three romantic styled wedding gowns by Lee Petra Grebenau , Sottero & Midgley and Ersa Atelier from Morgan Davis Bridal each was complimented perfectly with a mixture of hair styles and makeup by Storme.
In this intimate little piece of heaven on Earth, Valentina brought her vision to life in perfect harmony. With the Santorini sun settling gracefully into the Mediterranean Sea, we said a fond farewell to Canaves Oia and to our day under the stars. The shoot is brought beautifully to life in the most incredible wedding video by Russell Kent Nicholls, instantly transporting you to that sun-drenched day Santorini. It still makes my heart flutter and skip a beat every time I watch it!
