When you dream of an English country wedding…
Kin House wedding venue is a daydream of a place.
The air smells like lavender, and feels like holiday. You stroll hand-in-hand through those breathtaking gardens; say your vows in the sunshine, and have cocktails by the pool.
And when night falls, you tumble inside for some beautiful chaos. Energy, and music, and kisses in the dark.
Styled by the endlessly-talented Hannah Hope, Amelia and James’ wedding was all of this and more. The exquisite florals, the people, the weather, the atmosphere, the music…
If you’re dreaming of a wedding in Kin House, come take a little look. This multi-day event will take your breath away.
Aperol, sunshine, and cocktails by the pool
Our experience began the day before the wedding.
Aperol flowing; sunglasses, sunloungers, and paddles in the pool. The Kin House gardens, dancing with butterflies; the evening sunlight breaking through the trees.
The guests arrived in their twos and threes- “Thank you so much for coming!” and “This place is amazing!”. That buzz of excitement, of the night before.
We gathered around the table for an absolute feast- lobster and steak, salads, potatoes, and sparkling wine.
And as the sun set, we headed inside. Found our rooms, and just fell into those oh-so-comfy beds.

The next morning felt easy. Unhurried, and intimate, as all the best ones are.
Champagne on the bed, and little sneak-peeks out the window. A morning with the girls in that beautiful room.
Amelia looked stunning in her timeless silk gown by Suzanne Neville. She completed the elegant look with natural makeup, a gorgeous low bun, and a church-length veil. And an utterly exquisite calla lily bouquet.
She had a first look- and the most wonderful hug- with her dad.
And with the ceremony calling we headed through the grounds to her wedding in Kin House.

A ceremony in the round
Amelia made her way through the gardens, arm-in-arm with her dad.
The sun shone. Bees buzzed in the lavender; birds sung from distant trees. And as they entered the walled garden, there in front of them was the most beautiful ceremony.
Pure-white hydrangeas sat in meadows around the intimate space. James in his morning suit, Amelia with her lilies, Nana with her parasol in the sun.
And what I loved was that every guest got to be a part of it- immersed in the experience, just a few feet away as A&J said their vows.
They smiled and held hands the whole way through. And as the celebrant made it official, a huge cheer filled the gardens, and fresh rose petals filled the air.

The moments in-between
Champagne on the lawn, and nibbles in the sun. Your favourite people, gathered-in around you- telling stories, laughing, and chatting away.
You sneak away and go for a stroll. Reconnecting, and catching up; just-married kisses away from the crowds.
Then it’s a wander through your reception- the details you chose, the flowers, the shades. Seeing everything come together after all this time.
And it’s so easy, I think, to overlook this ‘middle’ bit of the day. This unsung hour where nothing extraordinary happens.
But for me, these are some of the best bits. These ordinary, unscripted, unguarded moments- where you get to just be with the people you love.

A little while later, Amelia and James were dancing into their wedding breakfast. The energy was electric, the air was filled with napkins!
And oh my, the styling was immaculate. Cosy, and inviting, and wonderfully fresh. And just perfect for an elegant wedding in Kin House.
Hydrangeas, peonies and roses filled the room. The stationery was understated and stylish- in muted grey, cream, and white. There were gorgeous textures from the wicker chairs, and the canopy of drapes.
And nestled in a meadow of florals- *the most* spectacular Hayley Elizabeth cake.
We had heartfelt speeches, and delicious food; espresso martinis and mojitos after dinner.
A&J cut their cake (which broke my heart a little!) And with golden light pouring through the windows, we snuck outside for a stroll in the sunset.

No one around, cocktails in-hand.
Kisses on the hood of an Austin Healey. Golden light, birdsong, and the world to themselves.
We wandered through the grounds in that beautiful sunset. A&J kissed, and danced, and caught up on their days. And for a little while, they got to switch off. To forget everything else, and enjoy a little time, just for them.
Before long, the sound of the band carried over to us through the gardens. So we headed across to Kilvert Hall- where their guests, and the party, were waiting.

Epic energy in Kilvert Hall
The evening party was insane.
Amelia and James had their first dance on that iconic checkerboard floor. And with a final farewell to Suzanne Neville, Amelia changed into her second look of the day- a halterneck party-dress by Ellie Sanderson.
The band was electric, the energy was infectious. There were LED glowsticks, and loveheart sunnies; people were singing, feet were dancing, and cocktails flowed.
It was such an incredible end to the most incredible day. And if I had the chance, I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.
