Those empty years that have you waking up on New Year’s Day, bleary eyed and suffering, wondering, where did that year go? What the hell did I achieve? The crushing weight of another year wasted pushes you into your pillows and stops you from getting out of bed. We’ve all been there. I certainly have.

I’m happy to say that for myself and my photography business, 2018 was not one of those years! I awoke on January 1st 2019 with a smile on my lips and a spring in my step! With this in mind, I’m sorry if the following comes across as a bit braggy but I’m just so pleased and I wanted to share with you all what a great year I had! Why are we so rubbish as humans at celebrating our successes?

2018 saw me travel all over the UK and France to capture the most wonderful weddings. It’s amazing how unique each wedding is and I’m always so touched by the love and joy and friendship woven into each one. Along the way there were wedding dogs, bouncy castles, ice cream stands, rainbow bridesmaids, paper bouquets, Hindu weddings, Indian weddings, Lebanese weddings, Scottish Weddings (bagpipes!) and weddings by the sea.

Some of these weddings were published and my work was featured in Wed in the Wild and Your Kent Wedding Magazine and Your London Magazine, with two more due to feature this year in Love my Dress and Whimsical Wonderland Weddings. Other wedding styled shoots I photographed were also published on Rock my Wedding and Love my Dress. Between all these, my work has made the cover of a wedding magazine three times!
I also made the finals of ‘Kent Wedding Photographer of the year’. I didn’t win but just making the final was still an incredible achievement, considering it was the most competitive and over-subscribed category in the awards.

A personal achievement this year is going completely full time with photography. I left my 9-5 and I can now say I am a professional, self employed photographer which is such an incredible- and surreal- feeling.

I want to thank each and every single client last year that chose and trusted me with capturing their precious memories- whether it was a wedding, engagement, pregnancy, newborn baby, family portraits or fashion portraits. It was a joy! Thank you. x
