A chic London wedding in Fitzrovia Chapel

Hollie and David’s wedding in Fitzrovia Chapel was nothing short of iconic. A slow morning in Kimpton Fitzroy; a Fitzrovia Chapel wedding. Kisses in the taxi; heels on the cobbles; cocktails in the bar.

And the vibe was immaculate: classic, fashion, editorial, chic. In just two short months, Hollie had planned *the* stylish London wedding.

We had three bridal looks, an Essence of Australia dress, pure-white florals to die for. And all of it set against the effortless style of Fitzrovia.

If you’ve been dreaming of having an intimate London wedding, you’re about to be endlessly inspired! Come take a little look…

Our day began in Kimpton Fitzroy

Hollie got ready at Kimpton Fitzroy London. And oh wow, what a dreamy place to spend your wedding morning! It’s renowned to be one of London’s finest, and it didn’t disappoint.

Four-poster beds, spacious suites, free-standing bathtubs…it feels luxurious, timeless and modern all at once.

And with flawless light pouring through the huge Georgian windows, it’s simply perfect for wedding photography.

Bridal inspiration for a Fitzrovia Chapel wedding

Hollie’s bridal look was flawless.

She wore a chic strapless dress by Essense of Australia, with elegant makeup, Hollywood waves and heels by Aquazzura. And to complete the look, a pure-white bouquet of roses, peonies, scabious and sweet peas.

But what I love about Hollie’s outfit is how customisable it was.

For an elegant Hollywood look: a chiffon scarf and designer sunglasses; for their Fitzroy Chapel wedding, a church-length veil. For the busy London streets, a removable silk bow.

And for me, this is a gamechanger. Removable accessories give you so many options to ‘outfit change’ on the go. So as the day evolves, so can your look.

With her bouquet in one hand, and her veil trailing behind her, Hollie walked through those iconic front doors, and onto the bustling streets of Fitzrovia.

A few moments later, we were in a town car on our way to Fitzrovia Chapel.

Fitzrovia wedding Chapel

When Hollie and David visited Fitzrovia Chapel for the first time, they knew they’d found ‘the one’.

And it’s not hard to see why.

That breathtaking gold mosaic ceiling, the intricate marble-work (with seventeen different types of marble!) It’s beautiful, cosy, unique, and endlessly romantic all at once.

For now, it’s something of a hidden gem. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes one of the most sought-after wedding venues in London.

Wedding vows by candlelight

Hollie’s vision was to say her vows by candlelight. So they chose to get married later in the day for the full effect

And honestly, it was idyllic. Candlelight flickered across the beautiful marble, and shimmered off the ceiling above. Spectacular floral urns of white roses and gypsophila framed the candlelit altar.

And there- wearing a classic black tux and an ear-to-ear smile- was David.

The ceremony was intimate, and beautiful.

Hollie and David stood nestled up against each other. They held hands, and read personally-written vows.

And as the celebrant made it official, they kissed in the candlelight, and walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.

Couple shots and cocktails

I’ve been a wedding photographer in London for years, and a London local for many years before that. So when you give me a stylish couple like Hollie and Dave, I know all the best places to take them!

We found back-alleys, black shutters, red phone boxes and a gorgeous white Vespa. We strolled across zebra crossings, and through the cobbled streets of Bloomsbury. And as the evening began to creep in, we jumped in a black cab back to Kimpton Fitzroy.

And that’s where I left them. Completely smitten, sipping cocktails, and whispering sweet nothings in a cosy corner of Fitz’s bar.
