Romance, style and colour in Chianti

Emily and Keith’s wedding in Borgo di Pietrafitta was a masterpiece of colour. Blush pinks, and delicate blues; magenta, coral, and butter yellow. And all of it backdropped by the deep green of the Chianti hills.

With styling from the exceptionally talented Valentina, we spent three days in that exquisite space…where colour, style, and The Dolce Vita combine.

If you’ve been dreaming of a wedding in Borgo di Pietrafitta, come take a little look. E&K’s multi-day celebration was genuinely stunning.

Borgo di Pietrafitta wedding venue (or should I say, wedding *village*)

High on the hills of Tuscany sits Borgo di Pietrafitta wedding venue.

With “oh wow!” views across the Chianti hills, olive groves and vineyards, the ancient medieval village has been lovingly renovated. And with people coming from all over the world to see it, it’s now one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Tuscany.

And honestly, it is the perfect place for a destination wedding.

There’s a BBQ area, and an infinity pool. You can rent bikes, or Vespas. You can go for a wine tour (like E&K did). They even offer cookery classes! And as Borgo di Pietrafitta is available for exclusive hire, you can have the whole place to yourselves, with up to 90 guests staying with you on site.
It’s so much more than just a pretty venue with a nice view. A wedding in Borgo di Pietrafitta is an experience.

Bridal styling inspiration for your wedding in Borgo di Pietrafitta

Our morning began in the beautifully rustic rooms of the Borgo di Pietrafitta villa.

It was peaceful, and slow. Love letters sat waiting on the bed; sunlight and birdsong poured through the open doors.

Emily looked stunning in Rene from House of Flora. She completed the timeless look with elegantly natural hair and makeup, and an epic cathedral-length veil from Rebecca Anne Designs.

And there were playful touches, too. The flash of colour from her bouquet; the personalised “That’s Amore” on her veil. It was stylish, romantic, and fun. And the perfect bridal look for a wedding in Borgo di Pietrafitta.

But it wasn’t just Emily serving looks! I absolutely loved the Andie Anderson bridesmaids dresses! Yellow ribbons streaming from wicker baskets; their bouquets spilling from the top.

Emily took a few *deep breath* moments to herself. And with her veil swishing across the stone behind her- headed into the Tuscan sunshine to marry the love of her life.

Esterno Villa

Borgo di Pietrafitta is awash with beautiful ceremony spaces (they even have their own church!)

But essentially there are two main options for you to choose from: Borgo Alto, an intimate space beneath the olive trees. And the iconic Esterno Villa, a shaded terrace overlooking the Chianti hills.

And it was there- with their favourite people gathered around them- Keith and Emily said their vows.

Floral meadows lined the aisle, and gathered around the base of the chuppah. Urns of blush pink roses sat on pure-white plinths. And hanging from each chair, a cone of fresh rose petals waited as confetti.

They had a modern Jewish ceremony, led by their family rabbi who’d flown in especially.

It was heartfelt, romantic, and personal. And as the rabbi made it official, a huge cheer carried across the Tuscan hills, and fresh rose petals filled the air.

Golden hour portraits in the Chianti hills

The afternoon was perfect. Laid-back, and intimate; slow, and unhurried – exactly how you’d imagine a wedding in Tuscany to be.

There was gelato, and prosecco; guests mingled, cocktails flowed.

And as the shadows grew long in the afternoon sun, I took Emily and Keith for a stroll on the hillside.

Crickets chirped, and birdsong carried to us from the olive groves. They chatted, kissed, and held hands. And in the midst of all the excitement, and the attention, E&K got a few minutes of peace, just them.

Tablescape styling for your wedding in Borgo di Pietrafitta

We made our way back to the guests, and headed through the village to the reception in Borgo Alto.

And oh my, the tablescape was spectacular!

A beautiful long banqueting table sat beneath arched chandeliers. There were ‘Lemon slice’ place settings, and limoncello favours. The stationary was elegantly playful, in magenta, and pink. And along the centre, floral bowls of blush roses and dahlias.

Keith and Emily had their first dance before dinner- with cold sparks blazing against the whale-blue sky. And as night fell across Tuscany, they feasted with their guests in the warm glow of the crescent chandeliers.

The rest of the evening was a beautiful blur.

They had a live millefoglie cake, which they decorated together (I always LOVE this, by the way! Such a fun way to get involved, and it feels less staged than ‘cutting the cake’).

The guests hoisted Emily and Keith on chairs for the traditional Jewish Hora. And with the cocktails in full flow, they partied the night away under the stars. It was the perfect way to end *the most* incredible day. And I’m just dying to go back!
