Some weddings stay with you forever. Alexi and Rick’s Moroccan elopement—captured at The Oberoi Marrakech and Kasbah Bab Ourika—is one I’ll never forget. Their day was filled with bold colour, breathtaking architecture, and a deep emotional connection. We began in the lively heart of the Marrakech medina and ended in the peaceful stillness of the Atlas Mountains.
From the first moment to the final spark of the fire show, every second was filled with joy, style, and intention.

An Editorial Adventure in the Medina
The story began the day before the wedding with an adventure session through the bustling medina of Marrakech. Alexi and Rick wandered through arched doorways, colourful streets, and tiled courtyards. They soaked up the sights, sounds, and soul of the city.
We explored hidden alleyways and paused at sunlit riads. The afternoon ended tucked inside a traditional rug shop—a quiet moment that felt like stepping into another era. It was cinematic, playful, and deeply personal. This wasn’t just about portraits. It was about setting the scene and grounding the celebration in a place that felt alive with meaning.

Getting Ready at The Oberoi Marrakech
The morning of the elopement began at the world-renowned Oberoi Marrakech—an architectural masterpiece nestled in serene gardens just outside the city. The hotel is known for its dramatic symmetry, reflective pools, sweeping arches, and Andalusian-Moorish design. It feels both luxurious and soulful. It’s an absolute dream for wedding photography in Marrakech.
Alexi and Rick got ready in a private villa surrounded by palm trees and peaceful quiet. The light was soft and golden, filtering through the arches and bouncing off creamy walls. It created the perfect setting for timeless editorial portraits.
Alexi wore the stunning Ophelia gown by Saint Bridal with off-the-shoulder sleeves and effortless elegance. We photographed her against intricate tiles, textured archways, and classic Moorish columns—every frame felt like a fashion editorial.
After a heartfelt first look beneath the arches, we explored the Oberoi’s vast grounds for their couple portraits. Every corner offered something new—lush greenery, mirrored water features, and hand-carved architectural details. It was romantic, peaceful, and intimate.
For elopements or small weddings, The Oberoi Marrakech is the ultimate luxury hideaway. It offers incredible backdrops, serene privacy, and a setting that feels truly special.

A Bold, Intimate Ceremony at Kasbah Bab Ourika
For the ceremony, we journeyed up into the Atlas Mountains to Kasbah Bab Ourika—a boutique, eco-luxury lodge perched high above olive groves and terracotta hills. The views were surreal. Rolling mountains, dramatic skies, and a quiet Moroccan stillness surrounded us.
Alexi and Rick exchanged vows on a cliffside terrace, overlooking the landscape. The intimate, celebrant-led ceremony was beautifully guided by Peter from Marrykech Weddings. Only a handful of loved ones were present, making the moment feel sacred and deeply personal.
The colour palette was bold and full of personality. Accents of red, cherries, and deep berry tones created a theme that was whimsical with a hint of retro elegance. It felt like an old Hollywood love story set against the rugged Moroccan mountains.
The styling was pure magic. La Perle Events Marrakech and Party Maroc brought the couple’s vision to life with creativity and intention. The day flowed effortlessly, filled with thoughtful details and artistic touches. Bloom Room designed florals rich in texture and movement—bright berries, layered reds, and seasonal blooms that danced in the breeze.
Sundown Paper crafted the stationery, adding earthy tones and artisanal finishes that tied the look together. Every element reflected Alexi and Rick’s love of bold colour, meaningful design, and joyful celebration.

Celebrating with Music, Mountains & Firelight
As golden hour fell over the Kasbah, Alexi and Rick celebrated with an intimate dinner under the stars, surrounded by laughter, lanterns, and live music. The tables were low and elegant, draped in rich tones and layered textures. It felt like a celebration pulled from the pages of Vogue—editorial and elevated, but never too formal.
To end the evening, a fire performance lit up the night. It was the perfect crescendo—bold, beautiful, and unforgettable.
