It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Happy December! There’s a chill in the air and the buzz you only get with Christmas just around the corner. And of course, it certainly is such a romantic time for all you lovers out there.
Today I’m bringing you some serious festive wedding and engagement inspiration. Maybe you’re having a Christmas wedding? Or planning on having a cute festive engagement photoshoot? Whatever it might be, you can’t go wrong with a bit of romantic festive magic.

Nataly J Photography and I had our second Dream Capture Workshops styled shoot recently and it was a big success! We had two beautiful real-life couples, several styled set ups at White Finch with the most stunning styling by Holly at Locate to Create. This is the forth shoot I’ve done now with Holly and her Mum Linda, and they always blow me away with their inspired ideas and flawless execution. They have the most incredible catalogue of furniture and props to hire for weddings and events! We have spoke about doing a Christmas shoot for ages now and last year we were all so busy that we didn’t get around to it. But I’m so glad we pushed for it this year and I’m glad to say, it was worth the wait!

Winter weddings can be so beautiful, the frost, the clear skies (if you’re lucky!) and the few golden leaves still clinging to the branches all make for a stunning backdrop. But the difference is in the detail and there are lots of little things you can incorporate to keep it festive and make it truly magical.
The table set up just glowed with festive cheer, with a fluffy fur base for the table scape, hanging stars and a rustic wood table set-up, all by the wonderful Holly from Locate to create. We pulled out all the stops down to every detail, with stationery provided by Rebecca Richards Designs and cutlery and glassware by A Touch of Vintage.

The real showstopper for me had to be this incredible gingerbread castle cake made by Chelsea Buns Cake Design. I’ve had this idea swirling in my head for over a year and I was blown away when it finally became a reality in this shoot. I squealed with delight when Chelsea brought it out of the box and the quintessentially Christmas scents of ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon filled the air! Complete with festive iced biscuits and meringues, it made for an oh-so-tempting dessert table.

The wonderful bridal wear was provided by Love in Lace Bridal. The glimmering ‘Paris’ dress by Luna Bridal Wear was teamed with biker boots and red lipstick to create the perfect winter outfit for the modern bride.
The stunning floristry by Bloomantic kept the traditional colour palette of winter weddings; deep greens, berries, reds with a festive flower moongate set perfectly against the backdrop of Christmas trees.
For any themed wedding or shoot, what truly sets it apart is all in the little details. The dress that shimmered like morning sun on freshly fallen snow, the floristry reminiscent of Christmas trees and festive wreaths, the stationary and table dressing that transported us to a winter cabin, even down to the gingerbread cake; every detail of this shoot perfectly celebrated this wonderful time of the year. It was magical!
