Textures, colours, and florals- modern luxe styling inspiration

This styled shoot in Cornwell Manor wedding venue has become just a little bit famous. Styled by the exceptionally talented Lauren from Bluebird Creative– what began as a humble workshop grew into a wildly beautiful passion project.

The vibe? ‘More is more’.

Opulence, romance, and unabashed colour. Layer-upon-layer of beauty, texture, and deliriously beautiful florals. And all of it set against the quintessentially-Cotswolds wedding venue of Cornwell Manor

If you’re looking for modern luxe inspiration, you’ve just tumbled into a gorgeously English rabbithole. Come take a little look…

The Cornwell Manor wedding experience

A wedding in Cornwell Manor is *the dream*, isn’t it?

Your welcome drinks on the terrace of a Georgian stately home. Watching the sun set over the Cotswolds, drifting off to sleep in a four-poster bed.

A lazy morning, vows in the garden, and kisses by the lake. Dinner in the ballroom, and sparklers beneath the stars.

Waking up with a ring on your finger; tasty brunch, half-remembered stories, and cocktails by the pool.

It’s more than just ‘somewhere to get married’; a Cornwell Manor wedding is an experience.

And it’s exclusively yours. For three days, you have the entire estate- all 2000 acres of it- all to yourselves. They even filmed part of The Holiday here (and if it’s good enough for Nancy Meyers…)

Rebecca Anne, and House of Savin

The morning with Maria and her bride-tribe was absolute vibes. It began with bridal party group shots on the antique chaise-lounge, and ended in a PJ disco on the four-poster bed!

Maria wore an effortlessly stylish gown from House of Savin. Her makeup was elegant; her hair fell in Hollywood waves. And to complete the look, a breathtaking veil from Rebecca Anne Designs

With her bridesmaids in figure-hugging silk, it was the perfect look for a wedding in Cornwell Manor. Timeless, understated, effortlessly stylish. And oh-so-incredibly beautiful.

A wedding ceremony in the gardens of Cornwell Manor

“Our intention was for the backdrop of the house to be accentuated, with immersive meadows in and amongst the seating. Creating the experience of intimacy, and being very much a part of nature on the 2000 acre estate.” Lauren, Bluebird Creative

The ceremony setup was exquisite.

Floral meadows nestled among the chairs, and spilled asymmetrically down the ancient stone steps. Beautiful and wild; intentional, but gently unravelled. Spectacular and effortless all at once.

And the blooms were subtle, in whites and soft pastels. Hydrangea, delphinium, garden roses, sweet peas, tulips, peonies, foxgloves (and many, many more!)

The atmosphere was intimate, and romantic. The breeze whispered among the flowers, the birds sung from the trees. And in the distance, the iconic Cornwell Manor wedding venue climbed into the clear blue sky.

Couples photography in the grounds

We had a little while until the dinner setup, so I disappeared with Maria and Bobby for a stroll around the grounds.

And oh wow, Cornwell Manor is a wedding photographer’s paradise!

The gardens are immaculate, secluded, and flawlessly beautiful. Secret fountains bubble happily as you pass, sheep nestle in the grass, and the lake glitters in the distance. And as you near the house, Wisteria and roses splash colour across the honey-hued stone.

It’s romantic, insanely photogenic, and quintessentially English all at once! When you picture having your wedding in Cornwell Manor, *this* is what you imagine.

Elegance in colour

The ballroom tablescape has become iconic.

Spectacular florals tumbled over the balcony, and surrounded the tables. Creating drama from floor to ceiling, and filling the already-beautiful space with colour.

A meandering line of pastel blooms spilled from the centre of the serpentine tables. Long-stemmed candles flickered in violet, melon sorbet and rosewater. And as an added layer of texture to the tablescape, a linen fabric sat in romantic folds over the Damask tablecloths

And as you stepped closer, you saw the details, the infinite texture.

The geranium tableware, the weave and frayed edge of the napkin. Beautiful textured place names, and menu petals that blossomed when you opened them. The cake– an inspired buttercream creation, with delicately textured florals. Even the glassware was a subtle nod to the shape of a tulip.

Every detail was considered, every moment, every texture, every layer.

Lauren’s vision brought to life, and something truly special from every supplier involved.

How to style your wedding in Cornwell Manor – a few thoughts from Lauren

  • “Pastels were the perfect fit for this workshop, with a real lean into peach and lilac as the key focal colours. But allowing soft pinks and yellows to add depth.”
  • “It was important to really let the florals and texture come through into the designs.”
  • “When trying to create a design, consider your layers. As we created this design, I wanted to incorporate texture and florals into as much as possible, we looked at everything layer by layer.”
  • “Consider how you can work with the aesthetic of your venue, which is essentially the backdrop for your design.”
  • “Don’t be afraid to go a little outside the box and try something new.”
