Have you been dreaming about photographing emotive, perfectly styled weddings in the most glorious locations around the world? Have you been longing to work with some of the best vendors in the industry? Are you ready to take your art to the next level?
Destination wedding photographer Rebecca Carpenter is once again teaming up with international wedding planner Valentina from The Stars Inside to bring you something truly special!
We're thrilled to say our next adventure together will be in Sicily, in Italy. A crossroads of the Mediterranean, this island has everything from rocky volcanic coastlines, to unspoiled white sandy beaches, to crumbling architectural treasures - not to mention a meteoric rise in popularity thanks to shows like
'White Lotus' (in fact - our venue was one of the set locations for Season Two!).
Our workshops are about so much more than epic hero shots for your home page (although you'll definitely get a few of those too!). They're about building lifelong friendships with kindred spirits, having an awesome time, making memories, and falling in love with photography all over again.
Will you be joining us?
We’ll be creating two multi-layered love stories for you to capture, featuring two different, real model couples. We want you to have galleries that look and feel like real wedding celebrations, so we'll be making sure each couple has their own unique story for you to tell. From capturing them getting ready, to exploring the vibrant city together, to their sophisticated, magical wedding in a Sicilian villa.
We will be limiting spaces on this portfolio builder to just 12 photographers. We'll be spending two days shooting together, and the group will be split into two smaller clusters-of 6, so that the experience is even more welcoming and fun for you. There'll be plenty of time to chat, share tips and advice, and get to know each other!
Of course, one of the goals is for everyone to come away with amazing content (and we will!) - but we also want the journey to be relaxing, nourishing, and empowering. This isn't just a content smash-and-grab! We feel really strongly about creating a joyful experience for every single one of our attendees, and about planting the seed for long-lasting connections that elevate and enrich all of our businesses.
We ask our workshop attendees to be open-minded, relaxed, respectful, supportive of others, and to bring all the happiest, most positive vibes!
Destination weddings can be wildly unpredictable, and travelling and shooting on-location is not for the faint-hearted! Plans may change, and unexpected things may happen - we might decide to go exploring, chase the light at sunrise and sunset, or adapt our day to embrace the weather.
If you're an experienced photographer with a strong awareness of your style and your brand - if you're up for the adventure, ready to create magic, and excited to see where inspiration takes us - this is for you.
Investment includes three high-end styled shoots, the opportunity to learn and socialise with like-minded photographers, and fun treats & surprises! You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the workshop, as well as your own accommodation and substinence. We will however be sharing recommendations on where to stay, as well as facilitating opportunities for attendees to gather for meals outside of shooting times.
This photography retreat is exclusive to only 12 photographers, plus Rebecca Carpenter who will be leading the groups throughout the course of the two days. We expect to split the shooting time into even more intimate groups of 6, in order to make the experience as smooth as possible for you.
Of course! You can post them anywhere as long as full credit is given to all the vendors involved. Kindly please note however that images cannot be shared to promote your own workshops / future workshops.
We understand that this can happen! Please notify us ASAP so that we can reach out to any photographers who are on the waiting list. Due to the work required, we will charge a small £50 admin fee in case of ticket swaps and re-sales. Kindly please note that - due to the revenue of the ticket sales being used to pay and secure vendors for the project - unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds if you are no longer able to attend. Payment in full is due one month before the workshop.
Our main venue, Villa Tasca, is located in beautiful the city of Palermo, in the north-west of the island - which has an international airport served by easyJet, Ryanair, and British Airways. As with most of Italy, the easiest way get around Sicily is by car - so rental cars are encouraged. Other important things to know: the currency is the Euro, the timezone is one hour ahead of London, and the temperatures from May to September tend to range from 30 to 34˚C.
The deposit is £500, which is a retainer to secure your spot. The remaining balance can then be split into a payment plan, with the final balance due one month before the workshop date. Please note that we are limiting tickets to twelve photographers only, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
